Anyone know anything about Wizard World taking over Big Apple Conventions? Carbonaro was handing out cards about this at MoCCA ArtFest earlier this month (June 2009).
With New York Comic-Con planning its next event in October 2010, the two may wind up going head to head. Well, maybe not directly, if the dates don't conflict; but Big Apple has generally had its big show in the fall.
Maybe it'll switch to having its big show in the summer? This year, thankfully, they decided not to schedule directly against MoCCA ArtFest.
Scuttlebutt??

bought Big Apple Con under his own name, the first of a few since. Wizard is a near-dead institution, having laid off fully half of their employees over the past year, many under some very curious, very cold, circumstances.
