dispatch eight, "Three Little Stories" by Amelia Gray (author of AM/PM, is exactly that: three very short stories featuring talking animals and other ironic characters. "The Darkness" appears in Gray's upcoming collection, Museum of the Weird--here is the first paragraph of the first little story, "Diana."

Diana lit a fire in the pit between them, and their clothes immediately smelled like woody smoke. Diana spoke: "You know how when you go camping, and you smell like this for days, inside your nose?"
