Mystery is a music zine run by some students based in Scotland. It generally focuses on new and upcoming independent artists in the local and wider UK music scene, with past interviewees including current hype bands Glasvegas, Johnny Foreigner, Frightened Rabbit and Broken Records. Issues are produced a couple of times a year, and distributed online, through local record shops and at gigs. The quarterly mini-comic anthology celebrates one year [5 issues] as a tangible comic. All 20 creators who contributed during the first 5 issues are represented here. It was born part out of frustration against the 'stook up its own ass' art world and out of the urge to just create something fun and give everybody a chance to get their work out there. WE ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS of anything creative: drawings, stories, poetry, photography, articles about anything, doodles, paintings, prints, revolutions, thoughts, ideas, graffiti, rants, recommendations, reviews, anything musical, (but not musicals, i hate them so much scribbles, film stills, movie scripts/screenplays, theories, protests, letters, dreams, letters to god, letters to satan, quotes, lyrics and anything pro-motherearth. Although Issue One and Two were free and funded by gig in Dublin City, from now on Baby BEEF will have a small cover charge, basically just to cover its own cost and so we can make it better.
