SPANK THE MONKEY Issue # 2 (August 1999)
Creator credits: Randy Zimmerman. Cover colors by Mick Fernette. New interior colors by Randy Zimmerman.
Series synopsis: The Arrow Comics’ underground classic comic (labeled as “On The Edge” in Wizard Magazine) is now available here! Follow the adventures of an angry little monkey named Spank and his brain dead cousin Shock as they experience life in their hometown of Flint Michigan. These are not your typical funny monkeys, this duo tackles major adult political and social themes in a commentary that is just as important today as is was when it was made. Each issue of Spank runs the cover label “WARNING: This issue contains actual opinions. Cranial stimulation may develop”.
Issue synopsis: The second issue of Spank The Monkey finds our pair in desperate need of a little nightlife entertainment, and in Flint Michigan, that means a night out at the strip clubs! More than just a “night out” this issue features a biting social overview of the Flint Michigan area (yes, the primary focus of those Michael Moore movies), and the nightlife they offer. Learn an entire glossary of terms, conveniently included in the back of the book, as well as those four magic words that make the strip club situation in Flint so inviting. Also included is the notorious “Bob Denver Rating System” and great pointers on how to have a safe, fun night out at “those naughty places” in Flint.
RATED MATURE. Intended for Mature audiences only. Contains adult language, adult content, cartoon nudity, and adult opinions.
