A 12p preview of Stories from
Alterna Comics.
A collection of four off-beat tales, "Raw Brain" features a pair of gunfighters riding into a strange little town for revenge on the man who performed strange experiments on them, only to encounter creatures not of this world and learn that the world is much larger and mysterious than they thought. "Toilet" features a comic creator and his girlfriend debating the pros and cons of making comics with profanity, sex, and violence. In a short conversation, they wonder how to keep them out of the hands of children -- and if they even should. The differences between American and European ways of life and thought are examined. In "Unseen", a man slowly starts to lose his mind as his vision of reality crumbles around him. Nightmares and visions become waking dreams as he feels the eyes of unknown creatures watching his every move. He looks for some kind of solace in the presence of his girlfriend, only to find the horror has invaded very close to home. "White Death" is about the experiences of Finnish sniper Tero Toivanen during the 1939-1940 Finnish-Soviet "Winter War". Tero wonders about the humanity of killing and war in general as he tries to survive. He has the most kills of any sniper in history, until his career is ended by a facial wound with an explosive bullet.
A 12p short story by Jason M. Tucker.
How far would a father go to avenge the death of his child? Is there any hope of returning to the man he once was?
The bloodletting and graphic imagery in this story may turn some people away, but at its heart, I believe “Confession of a Righteous Serial Killer” is a short horror story about love. I think most people, and parents especially, will understand this.
Confession of a Righteous Serial Killer originally appeared in the magazine Black Petals many years ago. This is the updated and revised edition.
